The ending of Hamlet was very significant. Many of the main characters were killed. We knew from the beginning that people were going to die, it is called a tragedy for a reason. But Shakespeare had more meaning to the ending than just death. There was a connection to revenge and death. Every single person that died in Act 5, scene 2 had something they had done that wasn't the most noble. Yet Horatio, the one who stood by Hamlet every step of the way, was kept alive. This says something to what Shakespeare believes.
